By design, AnIML allows the creation of generic software components that work with any analytical technique. Such software is independent of the measurement technique, the instruments used, and the software needed to drive the instruments. Accordingly, we only need to deploy and maintain a very compact set of software tools to the user's PCs. It is no longer necessary to install proprietary and expensive instrument software on all laboratory PCs to be able to simply view the data. The generic components are all that is required. This aspect is also interesting for instrument vendors. They can reuse the same set of software components across their product lines, resulting in significantly reduced implementation time.
